CLAM is an ode to simple living, freedom, playfulness, and resilience. A combination of acrobatic balancing acts and perch dancing, with the symbolic transformation of folk dances and cabezudos (big-headed figures). CLAM is a contemporary circus show for all audiences, designed for the street and unconventional spaces. Simple, impressive and fun.
Raimon Mató, Júlia Clarà and Àfrica Llorens have collaborated on various creative projects in the circus field over the last eight years of their professional careers, such as ENVÀ, Estat d’Emergència de la Producció Nacional de Circ, and the creation of two hand-to-hand acts: NoCal (Júlia and Àfrica) and A VOLTES (Raimon and Àfrica). Thanks to these collaborations, a strong friendship developed between them, and they began to share acrobatic balancing training sessions and discover a common artistic vision. Furthermore, all three live in the Girona region, which facilitates their proximity. They have decided to listen to the impulse and the need to create a show together as a company. Fèmut.
Fèmut is a misspelled and accented Girona way of saying FEM-HO (‘let’s do it’). In Girona, as you know, verbs all end in ‘T’, such as portut, càntut or dormut. As they had been thinking about doing something together since 2022, they believed that with this name, they would undoubtedly succeed.
